Psalm 34:4 “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
I once knew a woman who found she was living in a state of hopelessness. The things she always thought would make her happy were the very things that were causing her so much pain. She had a house and a marriage and two beautiful daughters, and on the outside, it all looked so perfect. The truth was her marriage was in trouble, her teenage daughters were headed down a destructive path, and she had no hope in anything that could possibly change any of it. She had run far from the childhood God who walked with her and talked with her and called her His own. It was only after listening to her loving sister, who daily would come and visit her, that she found peace again. Her sister reintroduced her to this God who died on a cross for all of her sins and who loved her and wanted to make her into something new. From that moment on her life has never been the same. Her household too fell in love with this man named Jesus, and everything changed. She claims it was a miracle that happened inside that home. I wish I could tell you from that day forward they never experienced a day of trials again, but that would not be the truth. In fact, she would soon experience the hardest trial of all, the loss of her daughter. She would want you to know that it is because of her faith in this loving God she has been able to face that trial and all the other struggles that have come into her path. Her strength is found in the One who died on a cross for her and who conquered death by rising from it and living. All she had to do was accept it and she did.
Lord, our lives can change in a second. It is so easy, just accept that You died for our sins and then You rose!
