John 15:15 “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
I consider Umbrella Ministries being a way to serve the Lord. We are about the Lord’s business offering comfort and hope to grieving moms. We offer hurting moms a safe place, a refuge from the destruction of grief. Through God’s direction, we give power to the faint and we give them a future and a hope that can only come from the Rock, the Shield, and our stronghold, the Lord God.
He knows personally the journey we are on, so who better to learn from. He taught us how to comfort the grieving when He reached out to Martha and Mary after the loss of their brother Lazarus. We saw His compassion on the human condition throughout His ministry in His many miracles. He taught us how to face our fears and surrender our lives to God through prayer in the garden of Gethsemane. We saw Him restore the life of Job, offer hope to the disciples, and forgiveness to a sinner on the cross. He has educated us in the word “humility” by letting go of His godship and putting Himself in the shoes of a human being. What incredible lessons He has taught us. As we prepare for the conference and do the Master’s business, let us be aware of the fact that He also calls us His friend. Webster’s definition of the word ‘friend” is, “one attached to another by affection and esteem; intimate associate; a supporter.” What more is there to say? The creator of heaven and earth is our friend; we are going to have a great conference!
Lord, I pray for our conference this year and for all of the moms attending that they will find a safe place to express their grief and feel Your love and healing. I pray for the moms who will not be able to come that they too will find a safe place to express their grief and feel Your love and healing.
