Ecclesiastes 8:6 “For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.”
July 2, 1997, a group of letters and numbers that individually are insignificant, but put these letters and numbers together and they become life changing. You too have these letters and numbers in your history that have come to be life changing. It is the day our world was rocked. You see this is the day that I lost my precious daughter, Katie Melissa Paul. My life before July 2, 1997 looked so different than any day after July 2, 1997. What a difference a day can make and what a difference fourteen years can make.
If you would have told me how I would be after fourteen years from that date, I would have never believed it. I remember spreading her ashes a month to the day she passed away. What a painful day that was. It was unbearable! I remember telling my husband, “It has been one month since I have seen her or heard her sweet voice -- how will I live the rest of my life feeling like I do today?” What I did not understand then, but I have seen so clearly since July 2, 1997, is that the Lord has ever so slowly healed that heart that was so broken. It took time, hard work and many tears. I pray that this will be an encouragement to those of you who are so new to this new life you have been thrust into. One date has changed us, but God’s timing and loving arms will heal us. We will then see our life has become more than this one day.
Lord, we have been changed in a day, but please help us to not let this day be all that we are.
