Ephesians 2:10 "We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
We are working beside the great master of handiwork, the great weaver who made us in that secret place. He makes beautiful things even out of the rags in our lives. You might feel that your life is over and you can’t go on. At the beginning of my grief journey, I felt that way. I just want you to know your life is not over and you can go on.
Given the choice, we never would have picked up this tattered square of material and added it to our lives, but here it is. There is no rock big enough, no corner small enough, no ocean deep enough to hide from this tattered piece of cloth. We must determine in our minds and with our wills, as weak as they both seem, what we are going to do with this shattered heart.
Is it possible for this shattered heart to bring beauty to this tattered piece of cloth? Will this tattered piece of cloth fit into the fabric of our new life, our new normal, our new story, or will this be the very thing that seems to unravel us? It will never unravel the Master’s plan. Suffering will change us but we choose how. God has a plan for each one of us even in our pain, even if the plan looks like it ran off the tracks.
Lord, I pray that each woman will feel the love of the Master Weaver as He slowly and patiently stitches the beautiful and the painful together to create their masterpiece.
