2 Corinthians 5:7 “We live by faith, not by sight.”
As I was shopping the other day, I noticed a woman with a panicked look on her face and she was crying. It didn’t take long to figure out what was going on. People who worked at the store were walking around calling out for a little girl. This little girl had become separated from her mother. A mother’s worst nightmare is not being able to find her child. We imagine all sorts of terrible things that could have happened to them. As I continued to walk around, keeping my eyes open for this lost little girl, my eyes caught a big, bright pink ball being tossed in the air. It was being tossed in the air by a little girl who had the brightest smile on her face. She had just found the biggest and brightest ball in the whole world. Life was good. Little did she know all of the commotion and distress she had caused. As I thought about this later, I thought about how we are separated from our children. They are out of our sight. They are in a place we can only imagine. 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” We also know there are no tears in heaven; our children cannot see the distress we are in.
Through our faith in God, we have the peace of knowing they are in a safe place and no harm can come to them. They are with the Lord.
Thank You, Lord, for your promise: absent from the body, present with You.
